I pas gas when I'm nervous due to fight-or-flight in my body. What are my options to stop feeling bloated and passing gas when I'm nervous? This isn't a problem from eating, this only happens when I'm near people. I have tons of anxiety and it's hurting my social life.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since you know that you are nervous and have a lot of anxiety particularly on going with the people, the cause is certain. I would advise you the following: Get a consultation of a Psychiatrist to get a proper clinical evaluation of your problems and get started on a proper medications for anxiety. You can also try other forms like Meditation, yoga, being with like minded people to get a proper social mixing and get accustomed with the social norms to get you the confidence which in itself is a part of the treatment., This is a form of IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome hence get treated accordingly. Also reduce the intake of the foods that contain nuts and such things that cause cause more gases.
