for some time my wife has been suffering from blocked salivary gland. the right cheek swells up, she gets dizzy and the ear has a ringing. She had a cat scan and it was fine. She has been through 3 rounds of antibiotics to no avail. She has tried warm compresses and analgesics. Is this something she just has to live with, as no one knows if it is a stone or what. She did go through radiation treatment a couple of years ago, so maybe that caused some kind of condition. She has no idea what to do.
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The swelling in the cheek can be because ofthe stone in the salivary gland or within the duct. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get a sialpgraphy done to confirm the diagnosis. If it is a stone, it can be removed surgically. I hope my answer will help you take care.
