Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking Locartan 100 mg for several years (Green Oval pill) Recently the pharmacist changed from the green oval pill to a green round pill. He said it had the same ingredients as the green oval, yet my blood pressure (headache, etc) doesn t seem to be respondin g as well. My question is the equifience of the green oval and the round oval the same. I do not know the manufacturers of either pill. I would also like to know those manufacturers of these two pills.
Thank you for your question! Regarding your concern it seems that either of your alternatives of "Locartan" ( green oval pill or green round pill) doesn't seem to control appropriately your high blood pressure. So the best thing to do is to have frequent BP measurement records and to consult your doctor (GP, or internist, or cardiologist) because treatment of high blood pressure represents over all a medical appropriate never-ending strategy, than a magic green pill (whatever it could be: oval or round). There are many different drug schemes available to you in the air; but only doctors could decide your personal risk profile for future events and to convince you for treatment and advice importance. Seems that your actual treatment isn't sufficient for BP control and must be strengthened with other classes of anti-hypertensives; but before I could advice you any special name we must know your liver and renal function tests form your lab exams. So respect your pharmacist but hurry ad talk to your doctor! Hope to have been helpful to you! Greetings from Dr. Iliri
