Suggest Treatment For Body Tremors And Generalised Weakness

Hi I m a female 40 yo, 5 7 about 170lbs and vegetarian for about 20 yrs. I seem to have an ever groing list of problems and symptoms. Around puberty I was diagnosed as anemic. This continued on into adulthood with worsening periods until my GYN suggested an Endometrial ablation. After more than a year this has allowed me to donate blood once (1st time ever) then the anemia is back. On the last test my B-12 levels were actually a little high. (I was taking liquid B-12 for energy.) About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis of the spine and this year rhuemetoid arthritis of the hands and wrists etc. About 5 yrs ago about the same time as the osteo-arthritis I was diagnosed with asthma and bad allergies. Around the same time I began dealing with extreme exhaustion. Doctor after doctor has said eat right and exercise. I spent 8 1/2 yrs on active duty with the USMC and now about 10 yrs in the Navy Reserve. No matter how I change my diet and exercise I am still exhausted. Several months ago about the time of RA diagnosis I noticed when I had moderate to heavy work I become weak with mild tremors. Enough for friends to notice. I brought this to the attention of my Rhuemetologists. This comes and goes. She asked a variety of questions to include about my voice which I had not mentioned to her but does come and go in strength and sound. I had attributed this to allergies. She suggested I see a neurologist for Myasthenia Gravis. I am on my 3rd bout with kidney stones and am now having hot flashes. I did get to a nuerologist who thinks it is not MG but a sleep disorder (I wake up frequently due to back pain) and wants me to see a hematologist. The hot flashes were not happening frequently when I saw the nuerologist. They only happen during the day for a few minutes at a time. I am not depressed and don t think that I will find and instant cure. I am willing to work to get better but cannot fight what I do not understand. I m sick and tired of being sick and tired and don t know where to turn for help.

Hi,

The tremors are commonly due to stress, or a side effect of medicines. The doctor has to carefully go through the list of medicine that you are taking to find the offending medicine. Please avoid stress, take proper sleep. It can be essential tremor also in case you have a positive family history of tremors.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhishek Juneja, Neurologist
