Suggest Treatment For Body Weakness And Headache

Hello, I have felt weak since yesterday morning. I went to my weight watchers meeting at 9 am yesterday and I have been on the couch since then. I don t have a fever, or any other symptoms except a dull headache. I feel like I have the flu, but there are no other symptoms. When I get up to do a minor chore, like putting in a load of laundry, my headache and weakness get worse. I don t feel as bad when I m laying on the couch. Any suggestions? Thank you, Yvonne

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I agree with you on the fact that your symptoms could be related to a viral infection. Coming to this point, I recommend having some rest, taking acetaminophen for the pain and plenty of water. It is also important to closely monitor your blood pressure values in order to exclude possible low blood pressure. If your symptoms persist in the next days, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests (complete blood count, a sinus X ray study for sinus infection, PCR, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes).

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
