Suggest Treatment For Boil In Pelvic Area Of A 11 Month Baby That Is Spreading
My 11 month old grandson has a boil in the pelvic area. His pediatrician I&D it yesterday, cultured it (preliminary staph areus but not sure if MRSA yet). Today, the reddness has spread and the abscess is hard 2 x 6 cm. There is no "head". What treatment needs to occur?

Hi,
It seems that there might be acute bacterial infection producing induration, swelling and now pus formation.
Give her one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course for 3-5 days.
Go for daily dressing after proper cleaning.
Ok and take care.
