Hi,
You said you suffer from acne. Acne may be in different forms like white comedones, black comedones,
inflammatory papules,nodules,cysts..etc. and remember acne is a relapsing disease and might be exacerbated by factors like stress, anxiety,
sleeplessness,oily food,dandruff,drugs like pills,steroid...
Your query is regarding the use of
isotretinoin. You developed chelitis due to isotretinoin. I can understand your worry. But, in high dose isotretinoin does cause side effect like cheilitis. So, in my patients I usually recommend low dose of isotretinoin.
For control of acne I would like to give few suggestions as below..
- avoid all factors which might exacerbate,as suggested above
- take antibiotics like azithromycine or
minocycline in proper dose
- tab isotretinoin 5 mg low dose might cause improvement
- apply clindamycine gel on the lesions in morning
- adapalene gel may be applied at night
- cleanse the face with cetaphil lotion
Avoid acne related anxiety and tension. Be patient to get early result.
I think, this would be helpful to you. Still
consult dermatologist.
Thanks.
