Suggest Treatment For Bowel Incontinence In Elders

I am a 61 year old with fibromyalgia, this past week I have been pooping my pants throughout the day, and have not eaten anything different than usual. Also I have noticed that the right side of my back bottom cheek goes numb, I know it sounds terrble, and it is embarrassing. Can you please give me an idea of a reason for this sudden onset? Thank you

You need to be seen for this immediately. This could be something called cauda equina syndrome, in which compression of nerves at the end of the spinal cord occurs. The nerves can be permanently damaged if not promptly treated. Pressure on the nerves can lead to loss of bladder and bowel control and numbness in the "saddle" area- the area which would be touching the saddle if you were sitting on a horse. The fact that you are having numbness in the back bottom cheek along with the bowel incontinence is very suggestive of this disease. Go to Emergency and have it assessed. Don't let embarrassment stop you from getting seen. Hope this helps.
