Suggest Treatment For Brain Injury

I m seeing a doctor for the medications I ll be referring to, but I suppose you can never have too much information. I have been on adderall 30mg ER for some time, but I recently suffered two brain injuries. I won t get into stories, because they re long and complicated, but due to all the brain trauma, my rehab Dr put me on amantidine, although at the time I hadn t told him about the adderall, for no reason, I just forgot because I wasn t taking it all the time. Now that I m feeling better, I m wondering if these are two drugs that should be mixed given their affinity for the dopamine receptors/pathways. Thank you

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Those two drugs have a synergistic effect, meaning they both increase the effect of the other. It's not a major interaction, at times it can not be present at all and they could be used together. However if you are feeling really well I would consider the necessity of each of them in relation to your past and present condition (which you don't give more details about) and try weaning one of the drugs.

I hope to have been of help.
