I have had a bout with bronchitis and am now over it however when I do the least little work like cutting the lawn, I can t make it one lap around without losing all my energy, breathing very heavy and my heartbeat accelerated. I am a smoker but I ve cut way down and am going to quit eventually. I never used to be like this. Next week I m scheduled for an echo cardiogram. Is it possible I have a heart condition now? I am 52 years old and about 40 pounds overweight.
To diagnose your problem I need to have some details of your symptoms like: 1. Do u feel breathless or have dry cough on lying flat at night, which is relieved on sitting up.. 2. Do u have cough with sputum production on a daily basis; if yes then duration?? 3. Do u hear whistling sound through your throat when u get breathless.. 4. Do u get sweating when u get breathless.. You can be suffering from a heart problem or aung disease due to chronic smoking.. Or else it can just be a post broncbitis hyperreactive airway disease.. I would opine you to get an Xray chest, pulmonary function test and an electrocardiogram done..
