Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis

I m a 21 yr old young woman and I have bronchitis, my doctor said. Each time I get cold or fever, I have symptoms like temperature rise, running nose, throat pain etc. These symptoms reduce and are eventually cured. But when cough starts, it doesn t reduce as fast as the other symptoms. If antibiotics are not used, then the cough can last upto a month or so before its completely gone. Doctor says I have bronchitis which is causing this. When I told him about my problem, he prescribed glemont F for three weeks. Is that the solution for my problem? What can I do to prevent this kind of long lasting cough again?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion, you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
So get done PFT.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamines.
GlemontF is oral bronchodilators and having side effects so better to start inhaled bronchodilators.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these and start appropriate treatment.
