Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis

I was diagnosed with bronchitis on Saturday and was prescribed azithromycin and guaiatussin. I have not improved whatsoever and starting today I have started having coughing attacks lasting anywhere from 5-10 minutes. I cannot breathe at all when these happen and my husband had to push air into my lungs to get me to be able to take a breathe in again. It s scaring me to death but I don t know if I should go to the ER or just wait until all my antibiotics have gone and go from there. Please help. Jen

What it seems from your symptoms, you have a viral bronchitis. Viral bronchitis can be severe and sometimes nagging, with coughing bouts that lasts long and make you short of breath.
I will prefer you starting an inhaler like seretide 250 mcg daily twice and take good steam inhalations.
If you don't still feel better in 4-5 days then better see a chest physician
