My son was hit with a rock in his brow bone. It is swollen just below his brow bone and it looks like his eyelid is droopy. His eyelid is starting to look bruised. Should I take him to the E.R. or wait til the morning and see how it is and/or take him to the doctor in the morning?
Well it is most likely be a soft tissue injury and swelling and bruising is an outcome of injury leading to inflammation and swelling..
Droopiness of eyelid can be due to swelling and needs to be evaluated clinically..
Yes, it is better to get him checked by an Emergency doctor so that the exact condition can be ruled out.. He can be advised anti inflammatory painkillers like Motrin and along with it do cool compresses over the swelling..
After a clinical examination if needed an x ray can be done to check for fracture of the brow bone if the blow was massive.
