Suggest Treatment For Brown Discoloration Of Tongue

I would like to know the cause, and treatment for the brown discoloration of my tongue. It came after a treatment of antibiotics for sinus infection. The OPD doctor suggested mouth wash and gargle with half and half hydrogen, and also listerine mouth wash. This does not seem to help.

Hi Dear,
Welcome to HCM.
Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The brown discoloration of tongue occur due to long use of antibiotics . Your doctor has suggested you right treatment .

I would suggest you to avoid drinking and smoking , avoid chlorhexidine mouthwash ,drink plenty of water , maintain proper oral hygiene , take vitamin B12 and folic acid supplement for a week .

I condition doesn't get improve in 10 days then consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis and to rule to condition like ,mouth breathing or any underlying disease .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
