Suggest Treatment For Brown Patches On Hands And Acne On Face

hello doctor, my daughter is 13 yr old is having some rough brown patches on her hand and back, which was diagnosed as cebacios kerotisis and also suffering from acne on face , neck and back + dandruff also. i am unable to decide as to what treatment shall i follow.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have brown patches on hands and acne on face which is due to blocked ducts of sebaceous glands . Dead skin and bacteria entrapped inside cause infection and the dark spots after acne are post inflammatory hyper pigmentation . I would suggest you to :-

- Wash your face and hands with face wash containing salicylic acid , which is very effective for acne.

- Apply ketoconazole oil on scalp and massage it properly.

- Apply kojic acid cream after washing your face .

- Exfoliate your skin twice a week with non comedogenic exfoliant .

- Apply vitamin C serum at night .

- Protect your skn from sun exposure .

If condition persist even after a month the consult dermatologist . Doctor may recommend techniques like laser therapy and dermabrassion for dark spots and prescribe antibiotics , retinoids and teritenoin for ance .
