Suggest Treatment For Bruised Knot On Thigh Along With Itching

My niece felt something on her thigh while out in the yard this morning and then it started itching badly looked bruised and felt like a knot was forming. Now the place is a darker color like a bad bruise with a hard ehute center and is getting larger. Her lower back is beginning to hurt.

Hi.
As per your case history of bruise on thigh, probable diagnosis is insect bite.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid and topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
