Suggest Treatment For Bruised Skin On Leg Caused After An Injury
I am 66 6ft 4in 215 lbs. Fell with ladder in august and it banged my right lower leg pretty bad xrays ok. There is still a hard knot although it has gotten a lot smaller. The skin fells streached and thin and I rubbed some skin off a spot that was itching a few days ago. I now see a small area of redness under the skin near that spot. I have also been jogging 10 or so miles a week for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Concerned about the redness.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. From description , this hard lump most probably formed due to haematoma formation (collection of blood) which might get fibrosed or calcified. It will take few weeks to months to get disappear. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination of swelling. Meanwhile give hot fomatation over it, You can take Tablet Motrin 1 tablet with food as and when required (upto 4 tablets daily).
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
