Suggest Treatment For Bruising On Leg Due To Dog Bite

My grandma's dog bit me, but his teeth never went through my skin since I was wearing pants at the time. The bite however, has caused an enormous bruise on my outer left thigh about the size of an egg. It is a dark purplish color. I'm afraid that my blood vessels is severely damaged and that the bruise won't go away. Will this go away? Can I get rid of it faster?

Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

If there is no cut on your skin and only a bruise then there is no need to worry as it will take its due course turning from red to bluish purple and eventually turning to golden after which it turns into skin color.....this usually takes around 2-3 weeks
At the start is painful but the pain subsides in 2-3 days.
to promote its healing u can take ibuprofen or acetaminophen thrice daily
Apply an ice pack wrapped in a towel for about 10 minutes multiple times daily.
Please consult your local physician if the bruise continue to be painful after three days, any swelling appears or that area starts to look infected.
