HI my 3yr old daughter has been having a bump on the inside of her eye lid for about 3 wks now. She has never complained about it hurting in any way, I took her to her dr and she just told me to put a warm rag on it but it has not helped. What should I do now?
It could have formed a chalazion. It is a chronic inflammation of the meibomian gland( modified sebaceous gland). Warm compresses are very effective in its treatment and most lumps disappear with this. In case the lump persists beyond 4-6 weeks then it can be removed by surgical incision and curettage. Kindly continue with the warm compresses for another 3-4 weeks ( duration of 10 minutes, thrice a day), before considering surgery.
Regards
