I just came from the wellness clinic associated with my job. The nurse practitioner said that I have something viral in that I have bumps spreading on my scalp and neck. There are occasional bumps here and there as well. As the day goes on more and more pop up. I am trying to remember the name of the conditioner she said I had. The bumps have an inverted center.
I can understand your concern for bumps on scalp and neck.
After analyzing the query it seems that you have developed folliculitis of the area of hair root which has got inflamed and is giving indented appearance.
In my cases with folliculitis of the area of hair root problem I prefer to give a proper antibiotic therapy which is very much required along with anti-inflammatory drugs. In my patients I favor to give complete course of antibiotics such as cefixime with clavulinic acid in proper dose.
An anti-inflammatory tablet such as paracetamol or ibuprofen or diclofenac for 2 times day is quite beneficial. It reduces the inflammation and pain at the folliculitis of the area of hair root.
An antibiotic cream such as mupirocin or gentamycin is quite beneficial to get early healing of the area.
Do to try to squeeze or burst the area as can get further infected and spread up and maintain good hygiene of the scalp.
All the best.
