Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation During Eating And Pain In Middle Of Chest
Hi, 2 days ago I started getting this burning feeling when I eat and drink, I have tried antacids but not really helping. Today it is still burning will a little pain in the middle of my chest after i eat something. Any suggestions of what this might be. I am 44 year old female. thank you, tammy
Burning while eating and drinking something and pain in the middle of chest, also called as retrosternal burning is due to gastritis and GERD that is gastroesophageal reflux disease. I would advise you the following: • Get started with a PPI like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole which you can get. • Antacid liquid every 3 hourly and Domperidone or Metoclopramide to regulate the motility.
This should give you best results. Soft bland diet in small and frequent meals. If this does not help fully then go for upper GI Endoscopy and other studies to see for the cause and effects and get treated accordingly preferably under the care of a gastroenterologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
