Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation In Throat And Chest After Food Intake

I had my wisdom teeth taken out 20 days ago, but suffered an oral infection a couple of weeks later as an after-effect. I ve been taking antibiotics since then and the infection seems to have dissipated, but just a few days ago I had some spicy food and my throat and chest felt really hot, congested and uncomfortable. Now, even after eating cold yogurt, I m feeling this discomfort again.. it feels like it extends from my throat to my chest and sometimes my ears, and definitely has that acidic feel to it. I m not sure what s going on. What should I do?

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

Some advice that I can give to you is:
- Take medications including antacids and H2-blockers
- Anti-gas, anti-flatulence medicine
- Avoid spicy food
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine
- Do an endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
