Hi I am having tongue burning problem, since from 5 years,whenever I take hot tea,coffee or hot food my tongue starts burning all the day and I am not able to speak properly and 2 months back I had fundoplication surgery,even after surgery the tongue problem is there Kindly help SACHIN
Thanks for your query . As per your query the burning sensation of tongue persist even after fundoplication surgery . It seems to me that you are suffering from burning mouth syndrome. There can be two types of burning mouth syndrome one having some cause or another having no reason (idiopathic ) .
I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order blood test , biopsy , allergy test or salivary measurement to find out the exact cause and treat it accordingly
For nor do warm saline gargles , suck ice chips ,remove dirt from tongue , avoid hot spicy food ,take ibuprofen(if not allergic) or acetaminophen for pain and irritation and rinse tongue with cold water 2-3 times a day.
