I m fighting cellulitis in my right foot...on Bactrim and Keflex...had IV in ER on Wed. night of strong antibiotic...finally turned corner this morning. Inflammation down, but the infected area that was red is turning purple. Is this okay? I just turned 75 and am very fit for my age. Look and act 60. Health nut... do all the right stuff. Thanks for your answer. - Joan
I have noted your concerns and feel that most probably it is due to natural evolution of color changes that accompany healing process.
There is nothing to worry as long as your antibiotics are showing the right effect with reduction of swelling, pain and other systemic features like fever, fatigue or swelling
Kindly keep the foot elevated for some days so that venous circulation is improved. Please also avoid physical exercises for some days. Best wishes from Healthcaremagic!
