We noticed changes in skin color of a lady becoming darker and darker over the past year. She has a dark complexion but nowadys it is becoming darker Already consulted a number of Doctors and they have told to apply lotions and avoid sun. But it is becoming ever worse. Could this be a symptom of any disease?
I can understand your concern for treatment for changes in skin color.
The main cause of change in color can be due to : -genetical -environmental -due to any internal disease state -due to skin conditions
In skin conditions it can be due to lichen planus pigmentosus or ashy dermatosis. Due to some internal hormonal changes also there can be possibility of the color change.
It requires detailed history of the affected person along with certain blood tests and skin biopsy to reach to a conclusive diagnosis.
You can meet a dermatologist to get further guidance regarding the treatment for changes in skin color.
All the best.
