Suggest Treatment For Chest Discomfort While Eating Food
I was eating a six inch egg white subway sandwich with veggies about 2 hours ago and felt like I swallowed a bite too quick before I can chew some more and its been feeling like its stuck in my upper chest or something. I can breathe fine and finished the rest of the sandwich fine but I feel like something is still there. Please tell me what to do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Chest discomfort may be due to muscle incordination during swallowing seen parkinsonism or myasthenia or esophageal spasms or GERD or ulcers in the mouth etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. Check for oral ulcers and upper GI scopy for esophageal spasms or achalasia cardia. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
