Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have been having some chest issues for the past two years. I had a injury two years ago after sledding down a very steep mountain, falling off of the sled, and landing chest first onto a rock covered in ice. My entire sternum and right collarbone was bruised to the point of being black and blue and i couldn t move for a while not to mention a small lump formed on the right side of my sternum and hasn t gone away. My sternum is constantly popping and cracking, and when it does it hurts a lot. The skin around my sternum and ribs constantly feels tight is that makes any sense. Like I cannot fully expand my lungs because of the tightness, and when i try it just pops. My sternum is also sensitive all the time along with my right collar bone. It hurts just to touch them. A lot of the time it is very hard for me to breath because of the pain and the popping. I cannot take big breaths because it just pops. Thank you for your help and time.
