Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Okay so Saturday I started having chest pains when I would breathe but I just thought it was those normal pains you get when you breathe deeply. But its Monday now and they have gotten worse. Now it hurts my left side under my breast( the usual spot) and my left collar bone and now it is starting to hurt my left arm. I have fibromyalgia and anemia but this seems different than any other pain ive had before.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely costochondritis.Fibromyalgia might have made the condition more worse. But it is better to rule out other causes of pain in that area like cardiac problem by doing an ECG and a X ray if needed after physical examination by GP or physician. For costochondritis i treat with anti inflammatory gels like diclofenac or nimusulide for local application.I also give the tablet form of those for oral intake if pain is more. For those who are not getting relief by this i advise local injection of corticosteroids or anesthetic.Antidepressants like duloxetine and amitriptylline is given also which helps in both costochondritis and fibromyalgia.Physical therapy and physiotherapy like BART is helpful also.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
