Suggest Treatment For Child's Enlarged Lymph Nodes In Neck
My 6 year old son has enlarged lymph nodes in his neck, underarms and groin; since October . He is always tired and has been falling asleep in school. He woke up vomiting the other day then was ok in the afternoon. Today at school he had a nosebleed, which has never happened before. I am ready worried should I take him hospital?
As per the clinical history provided, your 6 yrs old son has multiple lymph nodes, is lethargic over the past 6 months and recently had an episode of nose bleeding (epistaxis). I would like to enquire whether he is having fever, frequent episodes of infection or weight loss and any tendency for bleeding (like appearing of bruise after a minor trauma). I would also like to ask whether the lymph nodes are painful and whether, he is having any pain in the left side of upper abdomen.
From the history that you have provided, this may be a haematological disorder. I would advise you to consult your paediatrician as soon as possible and get a complete haemogram done. Some other investigations may be necessary like liver function test and USG whole abdomen, which your doctor may advise after a thorough clinical examination of your child.
