Hi, about 3 hours ago I didn’t swallow but a noodle went down my throat and i don’t know if it went into my lungs. I did not cough at the time, but for the past few hours I have had a cough here and there. I can successful drink water and tea and that goes down. Do I need to go to ER to get it checked? Will breathing issues become a problem when I go to sleep?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
>From what you are describing, I don't think that you have a noodle into your lungs. If that was the case you would cough a lot and your lung would have removed it itself by that cough. It is not common to have a foreign body in the lungs for adults who have the reflex of cough because most of the cases it is enough just to cough.
If you have any breathing problems, then consider going to the ER. But as I said above, I don't think that will be the case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
