Good morning doctor...my child , 7 yrs old was diagnosed with few fibrolinear densities in both lungs....impression is chronic brinchitis possibly with asthmatic component...what this it means? As mother, what should i do? Is this dangerous? Pls help answer my queries. Thank u.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of asthma is more because chronic bronchitis is not seen in children. It is common in smokers and middle aged people. Asthma is common in children and such x ray is common in it. No need to worry for this because it is treatable disease. With proper treatment, asthma can be controlled. So remove fear of dangerous disease. Consult pediatrician for this. Your child needs 1. Inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). 2. Pulmonary vaccination with pneumococcal and Influenza vaccines to prevent recurrent respiratory tract infection. Don't worry, he will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your child. Thanks.
