Suggest Treatment For Chronic Cough And Severe Back Pain

Hello, the X-ray of my girlfriend done in November 2014 revealed suspicious densities in the right parahilar area of her lungs. She told me about that only recently so I suggested to her to have X-ray done in June 2015 again which turned out with the same result. The apicolordotic view done on the following day concluded unremarkable . However, Im very worried cause in November she experienced cough which continues from time to time; she suffers from back pain, she does not have taste for food and she lost much of her body weight. Im suspicious about TBC cause she lived in the same boarding house with a couple who both had cough and her problems began shortly after she had moved there. Moreover, she comes from the Philippines. Thank you.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
thanks for asking your question
I completely understand your question
cough of long duration that is more than two weeks can be tuberculosis .
u need to get a fresh chest xray and consult a pulmonologist .
he ll request for a sputum smear examination for afb for confirming the diagnosis
backpain in tuberculosis can be due to tb spine also that is potts spine and she needs to be evaluated for that also by a xray ls or dl spine .
pulmonologist ll fully examine her and tell you the investigations which needs to be done to diagnose
dont panic but these things needs to be done early, because if she ll be diagnosed as tb early treatment will cure her and ll decrease the spread of infection also
thanks/ regards
feel free to ask more questions
may god bless you with good health
