I am wondering if I am having symptoms of something more than muscle strain or kinked neck. I woke up about 6 weeks ago with a severe pain in the right, backside of my neck. Since then I have also experienced an increase in headaches as well as my chronic migraines. The headaches can vary in their intensity from a 1 to a 10 and back to a 3 or 4 on the pain scale all within an hour sometimes. I have been dealing with work and family stress (as all working mothers do I assume). During the past 2-3 weeks I seem to be encountering periods of exhaustion or fatigue with my symptoms as well. This usually happens when a headache is spiking on the pain scale. I have been seeing a chiropractor and using my migraine medicine. I have tried applying heat. I have tried essential oils. I am getting some relief from all of these, but I am still dealing with this for several weeks now. What else do you suggest? Thank you
Your symptoms could by caused by chronic daily headache, which is commonly associated to migraineheadaches. I would like to know your actual therapy for migraine, in order to give a more professional opinion on the optimal treatment options. An antidepressant (amytriptiline) could help improve your situation (reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
