I m having bloody noses past 9 months. I ve been to emergency 3 times, cauterized left side of my nose 3 times and I m still having bloody nose problems. ENT said that it was because my nose is very dry and it s dry here in Tucson, AZ. I m doing everything like the Dr told me and I m still having problems. The last time he cauterized my nose he said it wouldn t bleed any more but if it does use a cotton ball with Africa nose spray and stick it up the nostril and clamp it then leave it till it stops bleeding. I ve done that twice now in the last week. What more do I need to do?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood that there is repeated nosebleeds, you are in dry zone and cauterisation has been done 3 times. If there is recurrence of the bleeding, I would advise you the following: Either there is a vascular anomaly or such problem as coagulation profile problems or a local mucosal thinning or the commonest is nose pricking habit. We have to take into consideration all the parts and get to a proper diagnosis. I would advise you to get a second opinion of another ENT and get the proper diagnosis and treatment.
