I believe I had food poisoning two nights ago. I vomited for several hours and had diarrhea as well. Now my lungs and ribs hurt so much ... I can't cough or sneeze without severe pain. What is causing this pain and what can I take for it. I also have severe emphysema and asthma ... And I'm 67 female
Hello ma'am I had gone through your question and I can understand your concern Looking at your history this could be due to any of these possibilities 1. Gastroenteritis due to infection 2.worm infestation 3. Indigestion or malabsorption 4. Irritable bowel syndrome
I see such patients in my clinic, after clinical examination and patient history of would advise them for a battery of tests like liver function tests or stool test for ova cyst or protozoa
you may require a course of antibiotics like ofloxacin with ornidazole under supervision of your doctor have plenty of fluids including ORS to counter dehydration take probiotics which will improve healthy germs in intestine have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables Wash your hands with antiseptic soap every time you eat hope this helps you please feel free to ask for more clarification I gladly answer you best wishes
