Last monday, I started to feel a cold. over the next few days, I had a lot of runny nose, etc. My nose is a more manageable but my ears are becoming fully congested. I don't have headache but I have never experienced this before. I am 51 years old. I have greenish material in my nose. ???
Diagnosis for your complaints goes for common cold.
Many types of viruses can cause a common cold. You have some of typical symptoms of the common cold: cold, runny nose, ears becoming fully congested. Ears congested may develop because of inflammation in inner ear caused by the virus. 1-You should be sure to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. 2-Medications that may help you to relieve some of your symptoms are: pain relievers, Antihistamines. If your symptoms do not seem to be getting better after a week, check with a doctor to see if you have developed an allergy or sinusitis.
Hello, It sounds like you have an upper respiratory virus and possibly an ear infection. If you are running fevers, become short of breath or if the ear becomes painful then you should see a doctor. If not then stay hydrated, rest and use nasal saline for the nasal discharge. Regards
