My 19 month old boy has had what we thought was a colourless mole on his fave for about 12 months. The area around the mole redens and flares up a lot. Usually when he eats. When it does this it looks like a big insect bite. Is this ok or should I get it checked out? Thank you
I dont think its mole. From the details you have provided, it appears like a solitary mastocytoma. Its just collection of mast cells and explains "insect bite" like appearance and redness around it after meal. I think you should upload a photograph for further evaluation. Or you can consult a dermatologist for confirmation. The confirmation might require histopathology. The good thing is it goes away without leaving any mark. Hope it answers your queries.
