Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have been diagnosed with IBS and have bouts of constipation and diarrhea. I also recently had a severe allergic reaction which sent me to the hospital. I have to wait 4 months for an allergy test, and until then am restricted in the foods that I can eat. I have tried quinoa for its high protein and fibre...but it seems to get stuck in my small intestine and really hurts the lower left portion of my abdomen. Do you have any helpful hints on what foods that do not contain gluten that I could eat to help with my fibre intake and IBS? Thank you! Also, I was told I needed to gain 10 pounds so that my blood pressure doesn t suddenly drop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
