General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I have read your query & understand your concern. *In pregnancy, intestinal movements & digestion are hampered due to pregnancy hormones. This leads to constipation -which ultimately ends up with bleeding in stools. *Daflon controls inflammation at the site & also reduces recurrance. You can take it safely in pregnancy also, there no adverse effects of the drugs on pregnancy/fetus. * apart from this change in life style brings big relief from the problem- - have small/ frequent (3 houly) servings to eat. - have sufficient fibers in diet in form of salads, fruits, vegetables, unprocessed cerels/legumes/ dals. -Have plenty of water through out day ( 12 glasses ) - Adopt regular bowel habbits, avoid constipation by taking stool softeners if needed. - Regular mild abdominal exercises & walking. Thanks..
