Suggest Treatment For Continuing Pain After L5/S1 BMP Anterior Fusion

had L-5 S1 BMP anterior fusion on june 20th this year, still experiancing same symptoms as before surgery, best way to describe is that my lower back only on left side seems to pop in and out of where it is supposed to be,pain is excruciating when it moves,noyhing in particular makes it better or worse. can be standing around holding a conversation and it can happen,when it does,i scream out with pain and go to my knees, also happens if on uneven ground, if i flintch or move anyway abruptly, hell it happens in my sleep too. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You have had anterior fusion at L5 - S1 level with BMP. From your description it would seem that there is still instability of the spine in that area possibly incomplete fusion. In addition to that, there appears to be compressive symptoms on the nerve either in the canal or outside the canal. Of course need to get back to the surgeon to check on the above facts. A repeat CT should be done. Please use a well fitting lumbar corset. Pain medications are not going to solve the problem the root cause should be addressed.
