Hello
Thank you for writing to us on Health care Magic.
Based on your history the response to your question is as follows.
1. Bad cough with fever is due to postnasal drip secondary to cold and alongside possible bacterial infection.
2. Need to reduce cold, mucus build up. Antihistamines like
cetrizine or
loratidine, will help in reduction of symptoms. Steam inhalation to lyse thick mucus and salt water gargling to avoid
pharyngitis and
dry cough will be helpful.
4. If cough is severe, as now, which has causing pain in shoulder blades and chest - linctus codeine syrup can be taken to suppress cough. As there is no sputum expression, it will be helpful.
5. Antibiotics like amoxicyllin and clavulonic acid is necessary. If fever is persistent,
paracetamol maybe taken upto 3-4 times daily. You will need to take prescription from your doctor.
Hope this is helpful to you.
