Suggest Treatment For Cough And Chest Congestion.

I have a congested chest and a cough. I had a sore body and chills a few days ago but they went away. I can't seem to shake this cough and now I'm tasting blood but not seeing any. I do have mild asthma but am not sure if this ties together with what my symptoms are. Any help would be great. Thank you!

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
You need to have a sputum test for Gram staining, AFB smear. HRCT scan thorax. ABPA work-up like sputum eosinophil count, total serum IgE level, serum specific IgE level, serum precipitin test, specific IgE to exclude allergic broncho-pulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) in the background of asthma and you should consult your treating pulmonologist and get yourself thoroughly examined.
Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
