Hello,
Avoid coughing too hard. It will cause cut or tear in the delicate mucosa & blood in mucus. Blood in mucus is also indicative of
chest infection, inflammation of lung tubules,
tuberculosis, etc. Black sputum is indicative of black yeast infection, found in people suffering from
cystic fibrosis. Get screening tests, genetic and sweat test, etc. done.
Inhalation of black mold (
Aspergillosis Nigar) may cause black sputum. Get clinically examined, get required blood tests, imaging test, respiratory secretion test, tissue & blood tests, biopsy, etc. Get diagnosis confirmed. ou will be treated with
corticosteroids, anti-fungal medications, if needed surgery or embolization may be recommended.
You should do regular exercises, get connected to a Physical therapist for breathing techniques and counselling and support. Take homemade balanced food & vitamin supplements to prevent weakness.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
