I have noticed in the past few months that I have to cough up thick phlegm. This does not happen at night but only during the day and after I have eaten my breakfast. I don t have a cold at the present time. I do use a nasal spray at night so I can breathe more easily. What can be causing this condition?
Hi. This is a bit odd history to know that you are having phlegm only in the day time that too after breakfast. This indicates some factors either in the breakfast, or the dining room or so that enhance your problems. This does not happen in the night and you use nasal spray at night to breath easy. I would suggest you to use the spray in the morning and see the results, take steam inhalations. Use mucolytic agents and avoid all the factors which you must have noticed to instigate or increase your problems.
If this does not help, you may please consult a Doctor, preferably an ENT to have clinical evaluation, examination and investigations as may be necessary and take proper treatment.
