Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I have been diagnosed....a cracked radial head. I was to keep in sling for two 1/2 weeks....then small movements out of sling, back to sling to rest. I cannot completely straighten arm or completely bend arm. I go back to doctor on the 14th. Is this normal?
Fracture ( crack ) of the radial head is a condition which needs immobilization with an above elbow POP for a period of about 6 weeks. This usually does not cause any pain on flexion and extension but causes more pain and discomfort during supination and pronation ( twisting of the forearm ).If it is just a crack and not displaced , then this is sufficient for a perfect healing of the fracture after about 6 weeks.
