Suggest Treatment For Cramping Underneath The Scar On Abdomen

hello. a little over 2 years ago I had my appendix removed. At the time I was 6 months pregnant, and luckily me and the baby were fine. They could not do keyhole surgery however, so I was fully opened up etc. The scar healed well but stretched during the remainder of the pregnancy, and then shrunk a bit after.
The last 6 months I have been having cramping underneath the scar - especially if I go from lying to sitting or If I sit at a strange angle. What I want to know is what can I do about this? Is there anything that could help? Excercise or stretching for example? The cramping, while uncomfortable, is over relatively quickly but it has been getting progressively worse. But I dont want to have to have surgery to correct it.

Hello,

If this is the discomfort you are experiencing at the site of operation wound and it is six months have been gone for operation, so the possibility of incisional hernia needs to be ruled out.

If this is not there, then it could be nonspecific muscular pain, you can try Acetaminophen tablet for that, actually underlying cause of pain or discomfort is matter so the advice can be given for exercise or anything else accordingly.

Sometime, the pain might be due to infection and it also needs to be ruled out, I would advise you to see the doctor, for better confirmation and differentiation about the conditions given here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
