Suggest Treatment For Crohn S Disease

I have been experiencing extreme cold with pain in my lower front of legs, feet, forearms, hands, fingers, cheeks, nose, ears, chin & lips. Theee part of my body are white and will go bluish sometimes. When I am able to warm up my body ie my legs or hand with a heating pad the areas become numb then tingling sort of pins & needles with pain. The area then becomes warm and red looking, This first occurred when the temperatures where minus 20-30C outside. The sympotoms have lated for several hours and have had up 8 bouts a day. It just seems like I can never get warm. I have been wearing layers of warm clothes and have the heat at 24C. I am 45 female with with other health issues...one being crohn s, an autoimmune disease. I have heard of Renaryd s syndrom but only involving hands & feet along with ears & nose. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

This definitely sounds like Raynaud's syndrome. Raynaud's is an autoimmune disorder, and although I don't know if there is a definitive link with Crohn's disease, your symptoms are certainly consistent with them, especially your symptoms of tingling when cold.

The treatment of Raynaud's is warming up the affected areas. Another treatment is taking a calcium channel blocker such as amlodipine, which may help to dilate the blood vessels in your extremities. You'll need a doctor's prescription, and I recommend seeing a rheumatologist in order to help you manage this disorder.

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
