Suggest Treatment For Crusty, Flaky Sore On Leg Above Knee

I have a crusty, flakey sore on my leg just above the knee.It's slightly elevated above the normal skin. I have it checked out with my dr twice and he says there is nothing to worry about. It's about the size of my small fingernail. What do you think
