i have a 1.7 centimeter adrenal adenoma on my left kidney plus a 9.5 centimeter cyst on same kidney. i also sometimes have urine leakage not making it in time to the bathroom. would this be connected to this problem and should you always have the adrenal gland of this size out regardless if benign or not? thank you.
An adrenal adenoma is separate from the kidney. In location it is above the kidney. The adrenal glands are small in size and they cannot occur in the kidney. The adrenal adenoma requires no attention if your do not have any abnormal adrenal conditions.
A cyst in the left kidney measuring 9.5 cms in diameter should be investigated in detail and followed by by ultrasound at 3 to 6 month intervals. Any cyst more than 3 cms in diameter must be seen every 6 months especially if there is pain in the area of the cyst.
The cysts are fluid filled and are not connected to urine symptoms like urgency unless there is an infection in your kidneys.
If your CT scan does not show any signs of kidney infection then urinary leakage is not due to the cyst.
