Suggest Treatment For Cyst With Pus On The Buttocks

Hi, I got a cyst with pus in it inside my buttocks. I was told it is above the buttocks from inside. Because of which excretion of potty was difficult. I checked with a doctor and i was told it is abscess and have been given antibiotics for 5 days. After 5 days excretion of potty was free-flow , but i was feeling uneasy. After 5 days i went to the doctor, he is suggesting me to get it surgically operated. Is there any risk of life in this condition, and how does the surgery suits my condition and what would be the side effects.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
The condition which you are suffering is called Fistula. In this condition there is a pus discharging tract. It needs surgery where surgeon needs to cut the tract so pus can come out. it is not a dangerous surgery so no risk of life. You will be conscious during the surgery. Also after surgery you need to take antibiotics.
There is no side effect of this procedure. only you need daily nursing for some time. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions.
